We don’t just teach resilience; we grow it through the pupils themselves. YouthShoots creates young people who help carry the work forward by putting young people at the centre of the solution.
YouthShoots helps schools build resilience from within. We train young people to become Resilience Reps, giving them practical skills around wellbeing, resilience and positive relationships and then support them to share that learning with their peers through a sustainable youth-led approach.
So rather than a wellbeing workshop happening and disappearing, schools develop young people who can help keep the conversation going.
Our Resilience Rep programme equips pupils to take what they’ve learned and help create positive change among their peers.

Young people aren’t just recipients of wellbeing support. They can be part of the solution.
Resilience Reps are pupils who are trained and empowered to:
We don’t ask young people to become counsellors. We give them the confidence to become positive influencers within their school community.

Understanding mental wellbeing, recognising emotions, reducing stigma and knowing where to seek support. Young people explore practical ways to look after their mental health and build greater self-awareness and confidence.

Developing practical strategies for managing challenges, setbacks and change. Participants learn how to adapt positively to difficult situations, build perseverance and develop a growth mindset.

Understanding what helps us maintain positive wellbeing and how to develop healthy habits. Sessions focus on identifying personal strengths, managing stress and creating routines that support long-term wellbeing.

Exploring behaviour, communication, respect, boundaries and the impact our actions can have on others. Young people develop the skills needed to build positive relationships both in person and online.

Understanding online behaviour, social media, cyberbullying, privacy and the relationship between digital life and wellbeing. Participants learn how to stay safe online, make informed choices and develop healthy digital habits.

Helping young people think about who they want to become and the choices that can help them get there. Through reflection and goal-setting, participants explore aspirations, opportunities and pathways for future success.

Train. Empower. Propagate. Support. Measure.
Through the training, the Resilience Reps are equipped to become the programme leads, not the audience for it.
Each cohort is empowered to train and support other young people, therefore developing a sustainable approach to change.
Up to 60 pupils per training day and one shared wellbeing framework across every academy, building a cost-effective model.
Follow up support for Resilience Reps through Propagation Packs and Development calls to sharpen ideas, solve problems and mark progress, so the programme continues to make lasting change.
Ten wellbeing measures, reported back to schools and Trusts, and published as impact reports to evidence school improvement.
The result?
Wellbeing becomes part of the school culture — not just something that happens on a single training day.
