About Us

Smiling man in white T-shirt outdoors with greenery.

30 years of working with young people.

YouthShoots was founded by Paul Hanmore following 30 years of experience engaging and supporting young people to develop and achieve their potential.

During that time, Paul has created, coordinated and delivered training programmes reaching more than 60,000 young people to date.

His approach is simple:

Make important subjects understandable.

Make learning engaging.

Give young people a voice.

Then give them the opportunity to act.

YouthShoots brings that experience together with a clear purpose: To help young people become more resilient, more confident and more capable of creating positive change.

“Paul’s ability to engage young people is exceptional. Having seen Paul at work in front of a group of young people I was struck by his ability to so expertly captivate the crowd. He makes complex issues accessible and relatable.”

The Impact of Our Work

Karen Matthews, Executive Headteacher & Strategic Lead for Inclusion from Empower Multi Academy Trust, speaks about the positive impact that the YouthShoots Resilience Reps training programme for pupils has had on their Primary Schools.

By bringing together groups of pupils from schools within an Academy Trust into a one-day training session, pupils cover all aspects of RSE Curriculum on #mentalwellbeing and #internetsafety and learn the skills needed to develop their #resilience.

WHY YOUTHSHOOTS?

YouthShoots is not a one-off wellbeing workshop, it is designed with a pupil-led focus to keep the impact growing. Because wellbeing should become part of school culture, not just something that happens on a training day.

Engaging Training

Interactive, age-appropriate sessions that make complex subjects understandable, relevant and memorable. Through discussion, activities and real-world examples, young people are encouraged to explore ideas, reflect on their experiences and develop skills they can apply in everyday life.

Pupil Voice

Young people are given meaningful opportunities to share their views, contribute ideas and take action on issues that matter to them. Their perspectives help shape conversations, projects and solutions, ensuring they feel listened to, valued and empowered.

Peer-Led Change

Resilience Reps help take learning beyond the pupils who attended the training. By sharing key messages, leading initiatives and encouraging participation, they become positive role models who help create a culture of wellbeing and resilience across the wider school community.

Practical Resources

Propagation Packs provide schools with ready-to-use activities, presentations and supporting materials that reinforce key learning. Designed for flexibility and ease of use, they help staff and students continue important conversations long after the training has ended.

Ongoing Support

Development Calls give young people the opportunity to refine their ideas, overcome challenges and celebrate progress. This ongoing support helps maintain enthusiasm, build confidence and ensure positive momentum continues between sessions.

Impact Reporting

Schools and Trusts receive clear evidence of engagement, learning and outcomes. Our reporting demonstrates participation, highlights successes and provides valuable insights that can support wellbeing strategies, enrichment programmes and wider school improvement objectives.

Bespoke Delivery

We work closely with each school or Trust to understand its unique context, priorities and challenges. This allows us to tailor programme content, delivery methods and support resources so that every experience is relevant, purposeful and aligned with local needs and strategic goals.
